New Here

Hello everyone. My name is Mary and I am new here. Had my surgery August 24,2012 and am down 95 pounds so far. Seem to be at a major stall now and trying to get out of it. I am type 2 diabetic and went from uncontrolled blood sugars before surgery to now they are controlled. Not off meds yet but getting there. My health has improved greatly as a result of this surgery and I would not change a thing. Looking forward to getting to know people who have had the same surgery.

Welcome to the board, Mary. I am still pre-surgery...waiting to finish up 1 more visit with my PCP next week and then I will be able to see the NUT and the surgeon. As soon as those visits are completed, my paperwork will be submitted and I wait. I am so anxious to have this done! You will love getting to know the people on this site~they have wonderful advice and because there are people who are at every stage, there's always someone to connect with. Glad you're here!

Hi name is Joy and I just got my date. August 14. The nerves are starting to kick in. I have 2 little ones that I'm getting healthy for. ....Ok I also would not mind being able to walk up stairs without getting short of breath or being able to fit in a chair at the movies. Im from Massachusetts. I'm really looking forward to my new lIfe with my family after.
