Interested to know what your pre-op diet was and how much did you lose?

I was on a liquid diet for 10 days. I was allowed 3-4 high protein/low carb shakes for meals (I used Atkin Advantage). I could also pick two items a day from a protein list (hard boiled egg, 1 cup of milk, light yogurt, 1/2 cup nonfat cottage cheese, 2oz deli turkey/chicken) and could have 2 cups of raw non-starchy vegetables. And as many calorie-free/sugar free liquids as I wanted (water, crystal light, diet snapple, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, decaf coffee/tea, and fat free broth). It was tough, especially the first few days but I stuck to it and lost 19 lbs.

I was on liquid protein shakes and sf liquids for two weeks...lost 20

Thanks everyone!! Great job too on sticking to it I know it's not easy! I am in my 6 mo supervised diet stage and was wondering how the preop diet would work. Thanks again!

I'm ending day 4 of 14 optifast diet. Today was the hardest. Arguments with family members made be realize in an emotional eater. All I want is to chew something that isn't a crappy chocolate diet bar. But support groups helped me steer clear of Burger King and what could have been a total disaster.

I'm sorry you had a rough day ,but you sold be proud of yourself ,you didn't do what you've done so many times, turning to food to soothe you . It takes one block at a time to knock the proverbial wall down, you're did just that congrats it'll get easier.

Damn auto correct " should be" ;)

I didn't have a prescribed diet, just had to lost 20 lbs. I was on Phentermine, I had a protein shake each day for breakfast, tomato soup and popcorn for lunch (I don't care what anyone says, it worked) and a regular (healthy) dinner.
