Last weekend before liquid diet

Recommended Posts

It's my last weekend before I start my pre-op diet. I'm getting super excited, but at the same time, not looking forward to having a liquid diet. My husband is going to take me to the Melting Pot (never been there) for an early Valentines dinner. What did you do, or are you planning to do, with your last weekend?

I just got my approval date today for March 5th. I have a list of "last meals" that I want to eat before I have surgery. Does that sound silly? I just know that my eating habits HAVE to change...so I am savoring all the pizza, fries and steak and cheeses before I move ahead to a healthier life style.

I am officially jealous. Last week I got approval for April 9 and I have to weigh in like 5 times Btwn now and then. If I have my "last supper" and weigh in higher than the most recent weight they have on record I will get postponed :(

Wow that's rough BB. I have not been told to lose weight before the surgery yet although I know I will be on Protein shakes for 2-weeks prior. Can't help but lose weight when you are not eating anything!

Wishing you well and success !

I had to lose 15 lbs as kind of a right of passage into the program, and have been waiting since November to get a surgery date. I've got less than 10 weeks to go though! Woo!

Eating of foods I won't be able to eat later made me gain more than 10 pds from my last weigh-in before my pre-op appt. I lost 5 pds on my liquid and when I went in for my pre-op appt 4days before my Surg and my surgeon canceled my surgery and made me reached for 2-3 wks later. Couldn't do it 2 weeks later due to in-laws' vacation so it's the 26th.... :-( I was angry and pissed because I had no clue it could happen. He said it showed I had probs sticking w the same diet I will be on later and it doesn't give confidence that I can handle it......

Wow, I guess I'll take it easy. I have my pre-op appointment Monday, and I'll start my shakes after that. I don't think I've gained any weight, so hopefully this won't be a problem for me. Thanks for the advice.

Good luck to you BTB. I have been doing the same thing...eating at my favorite places and foods etc. my surgery is March 5th so I won't start the liquid item for a couple of weeks yet. That scars me more than not eating much afterwards!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
