Getting Banded on Feb.12

Hi Everyone, :nervous

I have been "lurking" for about a week now. I have found this forum to be very informational and see lots of great advice and support.

Thought it was time to introduce myself.

My name is Martie. i'm 39/female and I live in Virginia. I am having my surgery this Monday (feb.12) and I am getting very excited. A little scared as well. I'm on my 3rd out of 5 days of protein shakes. It hasn't been easy. I must admit. :hungry: But I am so ready for my journey to really begin. If anyone has any advice, checklists, or would like to share any info, please do. I love to hear it all.

Hi Martie and welcome aboard! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I was banded on 1/30/07-just 11 days ago. By reading all the posts, you already know that everyone has a different experience regarding the amount of pain they had. I personally had a rough time with the gas pains, but this lasted for a short time. I expereinced the dreaded gas pains in my abdomen and in the middle of my chest. I found that the heating pad, gas-x, and walking really helped. Every day gets better, so keep that in mind. Best of luck to you on Monday- I'll be thinking of you!-Please post when you're feeling up to it- Gigi

Welcome to LBT Martie! Good luck with your surgery on Monday and let us know how it went once you feel up to it. ;)

Welcome, Martie!

There's a thread you should go introduce yourself on, it's the February 2007 Bandster's thread. There's several people on there going through the same thing you are on Monday! There are also several of us who have already been banded this month. Go check it out! Lots of good, timely information over there!

Hope to see you there!;)
