Nervous And Scared.

I am 17 years old, and I am getting surgery on December 18th. I am really nervous. I started the liquid diet today and I am feeling extremely depressed about not being able to eat. I'm trying my hardest. But I'm so hungry. Ay advice from anyone who has done this? And has gotten through it.

You are so young and have the rest of your life before you. I am 42 and have been overweight my whole life. I wish I would have had the opportunity to have this surgery earlier in life. The liquid diet is needed to ensure your surgery goes as smoothly as possible. Think about ALL the reasons you want/need this surgery and take it day by day. Can you get out and walk? That takes my mind off of things. You can do this!

Thanks so much! And yea walking is a good idea. Thanks for the advice!!!

Ivan... Just take it one step at a time. It is very hard but once you have the surgery the actual hunger goes away. You can do this. I'm also 40 and the last 20 years of struggles makes me think how different it would have been to have this years ago. Good luck! And don't be afraid to ask any questions here!!! We will support you.
