Omg!

Okay im an 19 years old, getting surgery on the 30th and havent quit smoking i thought it was not that important but my older sister came over today and show me the smoking related risk when having surgery and im freaking out what im i supposed to do? Im stoping today and i only smoke 4 cigs a day normally :(

I'm also having surgery on the 30th. Definitely stop now. Be honest with you doc and see what he says. It better to be safe then sorry. Its a week away so if you stop now there may not be a problem.

I don't want to influence you in any way shape or form but I smoked until the day before surgery. I smoked a pack a day and my last smoke was on a Sunday evening about 10pm and my surgery was Monday @ 7 am. There was no way I could stop before surgery, I was too nervous. I do have to say that being under anesthesia and being a smoker is so much more risky!!! But I took that chance

Same here my nerves was too bad. I quit the night before surgery. I can honestly day after surgery you don't crave a smoke.
