Does anyone know about taking meds post surgery? They say nothing larger than a regular aspirin, but I take Omeprazole that's in a capsule. Great time to think of this-two days before surgery! Can I just open the capsule and sprinkle the med in my protein or whatever?

The medicine your taking, is it for heartburn/gerd. If so I was on something for heartburn too. After surgery my doctor told me to stop taking it because I probably wouldn't need it. He said most patients who have bypass surgery usually doesn't have that problem anymore. Low and behold I haven't had heartburn since before surgery.

They went over my meds before I was discharged and told me what I could continue taking and what I could not. I was on nexium and they told me if I needed it I could take it and it is a capsule.
