New Here! =O)

Hello Everyone! :)

Im Angel and I am currently waiting for my surgery date. Im having my VSG converted to a RNY hopefully withing the next 2 weeks. In 2/2011 I had a nissen fundoplication (had 1/3 of my stomach folded to relieve severe acid reflux) and had the rest of my stomach cut into a vertical sleeve. After surgery, my reflux was cured and I lost some weight, but a few months later the reflux came back and hardly any weight came off (trusted me I have tried!) I am hoping that this surgery will cure my reflux and my weight problem once and for all! Im super scared about going under for the second time around but curious to see if I will finally get the results I need!

How are all of you dealing with your surgery? Anyone here in my same situation? Has anyone here had a previous surgery converted to an RNY?

Thanks!

Thank you mami....how was your surgery experience?

Hi. I am new here. Just saw your post. I had lap band in 06 and finally after years of complications and gaining half the weight back, I just had the conversion to GB two weeks ago. It is scary to go under again, but I think it will be totally worth it. You will do great!

I was knocked out woke up in recovery room. I didn't even realized I already had surgery. I remember asking twice if I was having the surgery, and being told twice Maybelin you already had it done your in the recovery room. I felt nothing. I was on drugs & really strong. Had a botton that it would aloud me to give my self pain meds up to every 8 minutes, but of course I didn't press it that often. I think the worst part was takinf out the drain that hurt like a mother. I was able to walk next day & all slowly but I was good. I'm very good with pain. I didn't want there daily pain killer so asked for tylenol 3. I took like 2 pills once I was home, but I didn't need it. I was more uncomfortable then painful. I only have issues eating now,but in due time I will learn.
