Hi Wannabeyummi. Welcome to the forum, there doesn't seem to many of us from England on here. But everyone is friendly and the advice and expertise you pick up is priceless. They do things differently in the USA as far as I can tell, I don't have to drink Protein shakes or anything like that. But then again, even in England all doctors are different and each persons diet is different, even pre-op diets!

I had my surgery on 28th May and was allowed home three days after. Am doing ok, getting into it slowly, like my afternoon naps at the moment! Including pre-op diet have lost about a stone and half in a month and beginning to notice a difference.

Good luck with your surgery, let us know when it is. Any questions just ask, there are lots of people on here that are further down the line than me.

Good luck

Bx

Hi , i'm having my op on monday hopefully , i'm on my pre op diet of weight watcher Soups x4 muller light yogurts x4 and 1 pt semi skimmed milk.

Im glad i found this site as i don't really have a support network behind me as it's just me and my daughter now so i really need some one who has been there done that and got the tshirt to prove it and who can point me in the right direction as there doesn't seem to be a gastric bypass group in my area

Hello I am ok thanks, not going to lie this has been a challenge. Have put on a little bit of weight as over time I have been able to eat more. Of late I have been eating 1 main meal a day when I get home (am lucky with my current job I'm home by 4.15pm) when I do feel like having Breakfast it can be porridge, or leftovers of chicken, ham even chilli - small portions. Have been more focused lately and resist all the usual temptations in a large office. During the day may sip on a Protein shake and mainly Water. In a week I've dropped 7lbs but believe mainly water weight as ankles less bloated. With Christmas looming I'm dreading it, and will have to make sure things don't get out of hand, usually means giving the illusion of eating more as people always ensure everyone is eating up!
