Does anyone know what happens if you gain weight within the 6 MO Dr. Supervised weight loss program? My insurance basically said they just want to make sure u can stick with something for a whole 6 mo. ...I.e.....seeing the doc every mo for 6 mo ......My bmi runs anywhere from 40-42 so I def don't want to go under and get denied. Honestly I have been eating like a pig lately. My primary MD doesn't seem to be concerned with the diet as long as he is documenting that I am "following" the diet.....basically he is all for the surgery, he is just documenting for insurance purposes.

I had to do a 3 month physician supervised diet plan. I lost 9 pounds the first month, gained 4 pounds the second...and I got approved on my first attempt. Maybe it would be good to show some loss because that shows you do have some discipline but then if you gain and lose and gain and lose a little with a net small weight loss at the end it shows that you can indeed follow the program but that you are physiologically at the point where this surgery is truly your only option for long term success.
