I'm 5 days post op

:clap2: I had my lap band placed last thursday! I'm excited and scared at the same time. I want this to work well and have every intent to do everything to lose my excess weight! any and all advise from anyone is so greatly appreciated! I'm still pretty bruised and sore from the surgery, but I'm so excited about this new adventure! I'm still on clear liquids and hopefully will be moving up to full next week. so far, so good. I've been a 60cc rule of thumb where I take 60cc every couple of hours to keep from over doing it. It this right? I've already lost 14 pounds in the last 5 days and am wondering if I'm not giving myself enough fluids. Any suggestions?

Congratulations, Chloe, a whole new life awaits you.

I would suggest that you do lots of reading, ask lots of questions and hook up with the January bandster thread.

I'm not too sure about your fluid intake as I still think in imperial measurements. Just can't get my head around the metric stuff.

I'm slowly increasing my fluid intake, I just wasn't sure how much to start with! I go back to the surgeon next week for post surgery follow up. I am so thankful for this site and your responses! It feels so good to know I'm not alone in this and there some one I can chat with about it! Thanks!

Hi everyone! Well Iam getting my lap band on 01/29/07. I am very nervous and excited!! If anyone has any advice or encouragement I would really appreciate it. My mind keeps wandering and I'm really trying to think if I really made the right decision. :)

Take a deep breath and smile because you're about to take an amazing journey! I do not regret for one second having this done! I know I'll be a more active participant in life in general. I did gymnastics in high school and here I am 35 and 240# having trouble walking up my steps at home! Crazy. I knew I didn't want to start a famliy like this. It's wouldn't be fair to my children. We're all here for you and I have been amazed at how much support I have received so far. We'll help each other with this!
