Its been over a week. should i be worried?

Im still sitting here waiting for the coordinator to call and tell me if i am approved by the insurance. It seems like its taking forever and lately it seems as though that everyone is getting approved within like a day or 2. I know i was told within two weeks i should know but it im afraid the longer it takes, the less chance i have that they are going to approve it.

The coordinator said that she would call but i havent heard from her since last friday. If i dont hear anything by tomorrow or monday i am going to call her again.. i dont understand what the heck the hold up could be with a piece of paper esp since my insurance only serves the ny and nj areas so its not like it would be coming from far away.

Hey,

I would call the coordinator and the insurance... Sometimes you have to be pushy otherwise they will just let you wait and wait and wait...

I am also waiting. I was told at my last appointment that the approval could take up to 2 weeks, and that if I haven't heard anything in 2 weeks, to give them a call. That was a week ago yesterday, and the waiting feels like forever. I made the mistake of doing a search on these forums for my insurance company and read all different kinds of posts indicating that they received approval anywhere from one day to 30 days, so I had to stop looking at that, and be patient...which is SO hard for this process.

Good luck...I hope that you hear something soon!

I was there with you last week. I was frantic...but no news is good news! I would call them and ask to speak to a bariatric case manager...

New me on the way
