Referral

What do you all do if you need a referral for your insurance company?

I was not aware I needed one. Had an appointment with surgeon we scheduled my surgery date for late October. My insurance company does not require a 3 month diet and I meet the other requirements. I didn't have a referral. I referred myself.

I never had a PCP. I do have an appointment with one this week because I want to be able to go to one after surgery. Will they give me a referral after seeing me once?

Just curious how the referral process works

I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure your pcp has all your test results before you go in to see him/her.

It shouldn't be a problem I would take copies of my weight management , and get him/ or her to sign.

I hope you get a good primary some are reluctant with referrals.
