DH IS 2 weeks out VSG and is experiencing hiccups after eating and drink... anyone know why this is happening?

My husdand is One week post VSG. Began eating pureed foods for 2 days. Seems like each time he eats he gets really tired and needs to lay down and rest... anyone else experience this? Thoughts?

My insurance has approved surgery however they won't pay for the nutrition consult or my original consult with the surgeon saying that no benefits are provided for services primarily for obesity. I know normally nutrition appointments and weight loss attempts are not covered under my plan but they do cover bariatric surgery and I need these 2 appointments in order to have surgery. Anyone ever have any luck getting these appointments paid for?

I just called my insurance company (today is monday) gave them my Reference number for my Pre-authorization. I was told that the Pre-authorization was approved and a letter was sent out last Thursday. I phoned the hospital to make my pre-payment and they told me that as of last Friday afternoon the final approval had not been given yet so I'm still waiting on approval? Anyone have this happen or is anyone familiar with the approval process that can let me know how it works...cause I'm confused.

I hope that for you to. I really did have a great recovery. Hardly any pain at all after 1st day. I've slept on my side since day 2. I was really pleasantly surprised by it all. Good luck to you

I want back to my desk job on day 5. No problems. Full 9 hour day. Not tired. I was driving my second day back at home... but I also wasn't on any pain meds at that point

I also had surgery on Wednesday. My surgeon told me not to worry about anything except getting my fluids in. We will worry about the protein after I meet with him in 10 days.

Following as I would prefer to follow a Paelo lifestyle post surgery as well

I had to have a 5 year weight history had to show 5 years with a BMI of 30 or greater. My paperwork won't be submitted until next week

Not to sound yucky... But anyone told to use vitamin suppositories? I've been researching and came across some literature on their use with bariatric patients. Any thoughts?

I had to provide 5 years documentation of BMI greater than 30. I never go to the doc so this worried me. I had a few years from a DOC office and the rest I used my WW book, documentation from another weightloss program and charted weights from the Gym were I did a weightloss contest.
