Vacation after surgery?

I am scheduled for my surgery on Sept 16th. I also had a vacation planned and was to leave out to florida on Sept 26th, only 10 days after surgery. I was wondering for the people who have had thier surgery, how did you feel 10 days out? Would it even be possible to think I could go on vacation. The vacation is a short one, arrive on thursday and leave out to come home on Sunday. I do have to fly from NY to FL. Any advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks ^_^

You won't know until post-op. Everyone is so different. I vacationed for two weeks as soon as I was discharged from hospital but others are unable to do anything for weeks.

Whether or not you can comfortably and effectively do it depends. Many people fly from Mexico one or two days after surgery. And one person on here flew to Hawaii one week after surgery and had a wonderful time, even took a one mile hike. On the other hand, the site is replete with testimony from those who had complications or who had long slow recoveries from the surgery. It isn't possible to know in advance what your situation will be. If you go, I wish you good health and a good time.
