POST OP DAY 5

POST OP DAY 5

Well a couple of things that I have noticed thus far I’m able to tolerate the liquids just fine but I’m not drinking much protein, it feels me up and makes my mouth super dry,and then I cramp even worse. I have been doing 2 much I live upstairs on the second floor and have to walk up and down to get to my car . I have had a few sleepless nights where I only napped for about 30 mins to an hour, so I have started taking the max dosage of pain meds allowed by the doctor. Somehow I even brought home a superficial blood clot in my right arm. It’s not a DVT so it should go away on its own in a couple of weeks. My mood has been pretty bad at times because I’m still in a lot of pain and I’m one of those people that just has to be doing something or I get to anxious, and my anxiety kicks in. I do not have any hunger pains the gas pain is starting to decrease now but it’s still there. Overall I’m starting to feel better and hopefully soon I will be able to get back on track with what the dietician and the doctor want but until then I’m taking it easy and doing less at this point is more comfortable for me, then straining and stressing myself over everything else.

This has not been an easy journey for me or my wife she is 30 days post op and I know my last week at home has made her see me in a new light, and I hope she will just look over my bad habits, and love me regardless.

That feels like I could have written the whole thing. If I an trying to sleep I can't anxiety attacks. I can't nap but I can't stand the taste of the liquid pain meds. So I took myself off of them.

I have had more bad days than good but tried to push myself to far too fast. I breakdown everyday at least once... I cry, I get mad, I regret my decision...

The only thing that makes me better is taking my mind off of it. Go for a walk... Watch a good movie.. Talk on the phone. Go to the store or my moms.

I can not be just left alone and not do anything. I also have a hard time with Protein drinks , same as you nasty dry mouth...

Here's to hoping we both get better faster!!!
