How long until weight loss begins?

I lost 10 pounds preop and had my surgery a week ago today. My stomach is still sore and rather bloated and I actually weigh 2 pounds more than I did the day or surgery. Frustrated! Today is the 14th day of liquids only. Is this normal and if so, when will I see the scale move?

Thanks!

Do not worry about weight loss yet just worry about getting protien and water it will come.

  • I lose 10, stall for a few, lose 10 and stall a few weeks. Just stay with your program. You don't want to lose too fast.

Everyone is different but I lost 11 lbs the first 3 weeks and then...stalled for 4 weeks. I made up my mind to not care what the scale said and to just do what I needed to in order to heal. At the 7 week mark (this week) I've lost another 10 lbs in just this week.

Your body may still be holding on to the fluids, you said you were still swolen. Give it another few weeks. Keep in mind, you may stall (I also went up a pound during my stall)...but over time your body will begin to lose.

Even though you are only losing small amounts of weight you will see big differences in your inches and how your clothes fit. Everyone loses differently so don't try to compare yourself to someone else because you will only get discouraged.
