Questions regarding pain

Hi Everyone...

I have been having pain for the past 4 days... and was literally pain free prior to this. I have not had any vomiting other than immediately post-op. I am now having constant discomfort and tenderness in the area just above my belly button. Whenever I eat or drink anything... the pain an bloating increases... I wake up in the morning feeling the same discomfort/ sensation. I guess I am in the hopes that this is a normal post-op (almost 5 wks) problem???

Girl, you are too crazy! And I am right in there with you. I DO have a surgical blade!! I use it to cut off the callouses on my feet.

My husband freaks when he sees me using it. I don't know why.

I am a partially trained para professional.

I'm a para professional too, only paralegals don't use blades (at least I haven't heard that news story yet.)

You should buy a corn plane. They are specifically made for evenly slicing the callouses off your feet and leave the smooth as a baby's behind. Only you have to be dedicated for life, cause once you start, you can't stop... skin grows back worse each time.

I did the ugly deed last night and now my incision is a little sore.

Darcy - I have been thinking about you and wondering if you are still having problems? I know you said you felt better, but are you totally over the pain?

Hi Betty...

The pain is not completely gone but I am attributing that to giving in and eating things that seem to irritate my stomach. Unfortunately, I'm not the queen of controlling myself! Thanks so much for asking... and I'm sure that with time I'll feel 100%.

Nancy... I think I forgot to thank you for your further condensed version of my letter... I Loved it!

Now... I just need to start an exercise or walking challenge on the boards to get my butt moving again! We took another set of pictures to compare and I swear... I look exactly the same! Oh the curse of gaining weight evenly from head to toe!

I always have lots of gas.

Oh yeah... gas abounds... I've stopped trying to be delicate about it.

Me too. so i guess that comes with the band?

Delarla, that is so funny you say that. I told my husband last night that it seems like at night afterI eat dinner I have more gas then I have ever had in the last 4 months...I have been so uncomfortable the last 2 nights, with horrible gas pains and cramps..This has been going on now for atleast 3 days. Hmmm..maybe we both are dying

GAS?!!! More room out than there is in I always say. LOUDLY!!!!

My sweetie says to me every night. "OK is there a one or two blanket fanning night." Meaning is it stinky or mod stinky night. I always say fan at your own risk. LOLOLOL!!!

Gas! How sad is this? I actually had to scout out the hospital where I work to find a bathroom that is at least semi-private. Meaning there aren't other stalls in there and there aren't people walking right past the bathroom door. It's still a little too public for my taste, but it's better than nothing.

Luckily my gas is normally just a bunch of hot air (laughing) with not much odor. The bad ones seem to come around that lovely special "feminine time." My husband says period farts are the worst! I keep a can of Apple Lysol at work just in case. Embarrassing, but I'd fart the alphabet if I could drop another 40 pounds!

Is it me or has anyone else lost the control since banding to hold in your farts? mine just seem to sneak right out in the most awkward places lie in the mall or when I'm walking around a public place. I live in a house of 4 men I'm the only women so my boys get the biggest kick when mom lets one rip with the rest of them. But seriously, I have noticed this past week I'm so gassy. I do not get it, my eating hasnt changed. More gassy then post op. I now have next to my bed enough Gas X to feed all of you girls....and no my farts don't stink either
