I'm a Newbie

Happy New Year everybody!!

Spent a lot of time browsing this forum...you guys are the best....

Wanted to introduce myself before I jump in with my questions.

So...I'm Mamaz2ndbaby (middle child) 27 years old and am contemplating Lap Band surgery. I'm at 304#s right now...the highest I've ever been and it's scary because my knees are starting to hurt. My doctors say my cholesterol is borderline but other than that I'm in generally good health. My goal weight is 185..I like myself at 185.

Thank you guys for building such a wonderfully supportive and informative community. :clap2: See ya around the board.

Welcome, I'm glad you started posting. I lurked for a long while before posting, too.

So have you made a decision yet, or are you still contemplating?

I'm wishing that this was available when I was your age. It would have been nice to have control of my weight when I was young rather than middle age. However, this is still a new life for me.

Best of luck.

I was like you and knew I wanted something done, but bypass was not for me. I finally was banded on Dec. 19, 2006. So far I have no complaints and it's a great to tool to stop eating when your full... it really helps prevent overeating! Good luck in your choice!:(
