I'm pre surgery and wondering... I've read not to take Midol or Advil after getting sleeved. For horrible menstrual cramps, what else can I take?? I live on Midol each month right now for terrible cramps. Any suggestions??

I would ask your surgeon. Mine allows NSAIDs after surgey but I also take Prilosec, which is a gastric-protective agent. Actually, that's one of the reasons I wanted VSG instead of GB--bc it's generally more acceptable to take NSAIDs after VSG vs bypass (though my dr does allow his bypass pts to take them as long as they take with a gastric-protective agent). You may need to ask about taking something in liquid form for 6 weeks after surgery though. I got by with liquid tylenol for my first 1 or 2 cycles after surgery. BTW lots of people get their cycle right after surgery even if you're not due for it... I did.
