A chance to compare...

Today I had the chance to have a photo taken in exactly the same place as one of my "before" pictures had been taken. You know how it goes--for years and years you don't let anyone take pictures of you, until you get a surgery date and suddenly realize you won't have any pictures to prove you did it.

So last summer, at a birthday party for a cousin's child, I had someone take this picture of me and my girls (imagine trying to cross those legs!):

Alex, I love those pictures you look awesome - beautiful face and family. what a difference before and after. you look like two different people and I agree you sure don't look like you weigh that much. Janis:D

Alex,

Great photos! I can really see a difference in you from the first one! And I'm with you in thinking that I look better in the mirror than in photos. I do think that because of the angles and the whole two dimensional thing that the camera does add weight. And, having seen you this week, I do think you really look smaller than you look in the second photo.

I have a girlfriend that knows that I had the surgery but we haven't seen each other since just before the surgery. She's always asking me for photos of my progress and I send them to her, but always with the caveat that "I really *do* think I look thinner than the photo!"

Hey Alex, thanks for sharing the photos. I just love pictures! They tell the true stories of our metamorphosis. Your family is lovely and so are you.

Hey Alex your pictures are great. I love seeing your sweet little girls too. It reminds me of when my little girls were little. But now I get little grandkids. I have to admit I miss your sweet little head tilted picture of you and your daughter, that was under your name . This one is cute too but it comes out kinda of dark on my computer. Guess I am not used to it yet. Thanks for sharing and every thing.....Janie

You look great, Alex. And even your girls look happier in the "after" photo. Beautiful family. Thanks for sharing your success with us. Maybe one day I'll get brave enough to post photos, too.
