3 weeks post op excercise experiences?

I want to work out but am intimidated. What was everyone's experience so close after surgery and any suggestions. I have been walking 2-3 times a day and I am not allowed to do core exercises yet per doctor's office.

My doctor said to just walk and no lifting or other exercises for at least 8 weeks post op.... :P

I am intimidated to go to the pool to exercise and I don't know why. I am 76 lbs smaller and never felt this way before. I know I just need to go once and then I will be alright but that first time I'd very hard.

I'm a month post op today. I've been walking 30-45 minutes a day. If it's too hot outside to walk (been over 100 here lately), then I have a low impact work out video that I do.

My suggestion? Keep up the good work!

Mokee,

I also exercise at the pool because of arthritic knees. For some reason I am more intimidated about going after weight loss, with lots of excess skin (I'm 64). I have decided that when that time comes, I will invest in a rash guard suit from hydrochic.com (modest suits), or coolibar.com. I saw a woman water walking in something similar and she looked nice.

Hope this helps.
