Question About Flights in Canada....

Alright....fellow Canucks :canada:

:)

Does anyone out there know any "inside" info that can help me out? Within a few months, I need to fly from TO to Victoria (to visit parents) and the investigating I've dones for the cost is ridiculously high (ie. I can't find anything for under $800 return...for just ONE person!). It sickens me that I can go to Vegas for 4 nights (flight & hotel) on that same price.

Is it pretty much only WestJet and Air Canada that are my options? Is there another airline in Canada that I'm not aware of? I remember when they used to put on "seat sales"....does this still happen? If so, is there advance notice? I've been told I just have to check the sites everyday. Do you think a travel agent would be of some benefit?

Any advice to reduce my flying costs (besides the obvious) would be appreciated!

Tks guys (& gals!).

Yoda,

Didn't know if you noticed but Westjet seems to have a 40 percent off or something....I punched in the departure date of april 4th with a return of the 11th and it gave me a price of 512.34 after all their taxes and airport improvement taxes and their I'mgonnapillageyouforanextraeightybucksbecauseIcan crap. Just thought I would pass along the info.

Thanks Time2Live.....you found my thread!! LOL. I actually bought my ticket this last wknd and went to post about it and was too damn lazy to search for this thread so I posted the info on "Yoda's Yammerin's".....

But thanks so much!

Yep, I got the best deal with WestJet....they and AC have sales on...AC's total price would have been $550; I got it with WestJet for $497. I don't think I can really beat that to get from TO to Vic. So, I'm happy. (beats the $897 regular price).

But even so...yes...not only did I pay the 'mgonnapillageyouforanextraeightybucksbecauseIcan crap

I also got stung for the don'texpectnothinbutthebarenecessitiesbeluckyyougotaseatnotlocatedonthewingoftheplaneandbythewaywearegonnagetchafortheheadphonesbutwewillprovideyouwithagratuspackofpeanutswhichmaypossiblycontain3wholepeanuts(butnoguarantees) !!

Omg I snorted my coffee!! lol

I'm glad you got a half decent price....you couldn't drive for that these days so it seems fair.....have a great visit with yer family.
