Pain below sternum

I'm 1 week post op and I keep getting stomach spasms just below my sternum. It just starts out of the blue and lasts about 10 sec. But it is very painful. Even while sleeping I get them. Before surgery I would get these when under a lot of stress. When the stress would pass, so did the spasms. I have been having them since I had surgery, but the last 2 days have been the worse. They kept waking me all night long.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have been having similar pains that are just under my ribs on both sides. I'm 4 days post op. I was thinking they are gas pains? Or maybe reflux? I'm not sure. I tried Gas-X strips. They seems to help a little. Walking helps too, but I'm still kinda weak. Hope you are feeling better soon!
