I had my surgery on 6/25 and I have not had a bowel movement yet. The on call doctor (I called about my severe incision site pain and mentioned the no bowel movement) told me to take colace. I sent DH out to get some and he can't find the liquid version. Does anyone know where I could get it in person?

There is a liquid version. Ask the pharmacist. It may be in the children's section. Look for the drug name docusate sodium. Just take the equivalent of an adult dose 100-250 mg once to three times daily.

If you can't find the liquid version you can cut the pills open...they are usually liquid inside. You shouldn't have a problem actually swallowing the pills but if you are worried that is what I would do.
