Patiently waiting

Well, I sit here patiently waiting for insurance approval. It was submitted 2 weeks ago. I know it was submited because the RN for United Healthcare called to go over some pre and post op info with me. Even asked me when my surgery date was in which I replied, "I don't know, do you know something I don't?" No answer for that question. I have United Healthcare so not sure how long it will take, but the wait is killing me!! If I had hair I would have pulled it all out by now.

You should try calling them. Last year I had UHC and I submitted papers for the Lapband, I eneded up getting pregnant and during my pregnancy I did more research and decided to go with the sleeve after having my baby (sooo glad I did) anyway, my insurance changed to BCBS of IL, but I found out after having waited 2 months prior to finding out that I was pregnant way back when, that UHC never even saw my info!!! I was told you have to be on your P's and Q's with them so I'd suggest calling often and keeping a record of who you speak to and what they say.

Hoping for the best for you! :)

I agree with the previous poster. Keep calling. No one cares more about this surgery than you do. Calling and politely hounding them keeps in the forefront of their thought. I called my insurance and the doctors office and I know it would have taken longer had I not done so. Good luck.

same here, it is true the sqeaky wheel gets the oil...I would still be waiting.....

Thanks for the info and actually, I called the Dr's office shortly after making my post and they still showed it as pending. She called me back a little later and said that she contacted insurance and they should hopefully have everything and an answer in the next day or so. I was hoping to have surgery the week after July 4th, but unless I get approved and start the pre-op diet by Saturday, I am going to have to wait til Aug. Atleast I will have a date then though. I really don't see July happening though. We shall see.
