Hey guys, I live in Boston and had my sleeve done recently 6/17 at Tufts. I felt it was a little disorganized but I loved my surgeon Dr. Shah

I'm in one FB group called "Drama Free WLS Buddies". I'm so sorry to hear of your leak--how long ago was your surgery?

I'm in that one to along with about 5 others. My surgery was 10/30 and my last 4th was 12/20

I ended up with the very 1st sleeve leak in Wareham. 4 surgeries and 2 months later I went through hell but def no regrets here and Kruger is the absolute Best. Are you ladies on any if the Facebook sleeve groups?

I am glad you are feeling better now. I am not on any of the Facebook groups. Honestly didn't know they had any

Nice!! How do you like Streeter I had a bad experience with him a few times :( there's quite a few groups on fb some of them are secret groups

I have had no issues with Streeter so far. He does express his opinions about his choice for my surgery but oh well it's ultimately my choice.

I think all of the surgeons at Tobey are a little...ummmm...abrupt in their personal styles. I call Dr. Kruger "Lightning McQueen" because his exams/consults go something like "Heyhowyadoing, everythinggood? That'sgood, okaymakeafollowupappointmentwiththenurseonyourwayoutVrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooom!" Blink, and he's gone! 046.gif

But as one of my good friends (also a Kruger patient) reminded me, "Who cares about his people skills--you care if his hands are good in the O.R., and he is an amazing surgeon!" B)

All of the surgeons there are like that I felt the same way u did pre surgery they all lack bedside manners

Well i am glad i am not the only one to notice that. Did get a call from nurse practitioner today that vitamin d is low but i for some reason expected that. So i went out and bought some only to find a bottle in my medicine cabinet. Oh well. I also bought the sublingual b12 because it was on sale. Need to find a multivitamin that fits all the requirements.

They usually recommend flinstones complete I bought a big bottle from bjs. I don't know if Streeter does a leak test besides in surgery but if so your gonna want to get some sugar free Gawain punch drop ins crystal lite isn't strong enough to add to that god awful taste I got the chills and puked from it and almost passed and didn't find out that I could stuff to it till my very last leak test

Flintstones Chewable Complete Vitamins fit all the requirements that I got from Stacy at St. Luke's--and they're not too expensive!

Dr. Kruger only does the leak test during surgery--I think I'm glad about that. I just hope I don't get a leak after the surgery, when swelling goes down a bit.

Are you from the New Bedford area?

The last time I seen my surgeon he was telling me that the sleeve is taking over the RNY because of the malnutrition so I was just wondering if they recommended the sleeve for you ladies or was it your decision. For me Dr.Kruger recommended it because of my asthma issues and with the bypass I couldn't ever take prednisone and Motrin again for it. I was so happy as I didn't like the rerouting of the intestines part.
