Hello from New York City!

Hi there from the center of the universe!

My name is Leah and I am 24. I was banded on August 21, 2006 and have lost just under 40lbs. It's been an interesting journey so far and I think that the start of the new year will help me re-assess my goals and gain more motivation.

I thought this would be a good way to speak to other people with bands...New at this so I hope this is a good start!

Had my 2nd adjustment (to 6cc's total) on Friday and am having lots of pain when eating. Can barely get anything down. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi NYC, sounds like you are doing well. You are probably swollen that is why it hurts when you swallow. I would just follow the liquid mushy stage for a few days to see how you do. You may be too tight. I only have 3 cc in a 10cc band. 6cc sounds like a lot. Good luck.

WELCOME to the boards! I have yet to get into bandland, but I am hoping for January or February.

I think the pain you are talking about is caused from post fill swelling.

This place is so great.. just read, read, read.... and post, post, post!

Hey NYC - I'm on Long Island. I go for my first fill tomorrow (3cc in a 10cc band) so I'll let you know how my goes. I would try the liquids and mushies like someone else suggested. If it doesn't get better I'd call the doctor.

Welcome Leah

Sorry to hear of your fill issues...some people hear say that reverting to liquids/mushies for the first couple of days after a fill helps just while it settles in...however if the pain persisists talk to your doctor you could be too tight. See how you go and keep us posted. By the way, it is great to see you hear on LBT looking forward to hearing more of your success story Congrats!
