I think it's because our tummy has air that needs to be released. When we chew we put air bubbles in the food we swallow... I have been burping a lot since the surgery.

This is my telltale "stop eating" sign. Burps but also BIG hiccups. Like loud obnoxious ones. I'll usually hiccup one loud time and then just stop eating and it'll stop.

Yeah. I have noticed myself hiccuping too!
