Only decaf.

I had one cup a day during my preop but boy did I regret it, I had a killer headache from caffeine with drawl the first few days post op.

you need to check with your own doctor's instructions. Some people say no, some say only decaf and others say regular coffee is fine.

I drank coffee before and after.. My instructions just said to try to limit caffeinated coffee to 2 cups a day.

I think you're not supposed to drink coffee because it dehydrates you. It's easier to get off the coffee habit pre-op rather than going through that post-op. I didn't drink any coffee on my pre-op, and for about 4 months post-op. Now I drink coffee every day like I used to (except I only drink 1 cup, sometimes 2 cups) but I always try to get my water in so I won't get dehydrated.

I was told it was fine if we wanted it. I only drink 2 cups of coffee a day as it is.
