After doing my Protein liquid diet, I went into surgery on Thursday May 30, 2013 at 10:00 am.
I have very small veins and the nurse put the I V in my left hand before I went into surgery. I had to wear the vibrating compression leggings and whenever I had to use the restroom, the nurse had to unhook my leggings. On Saturday morning, at 6:00 am, I had to use the restroom and I had to be unhooked from the leggings and I couldn't move my fingers in my left hand. My left hand blew up like a balloon and my left hand turned blue. The nurse got a bit nervous, took the I V out of my left hand, and the nurse put a new I V in my right arm. The nurse kept putting a heat pack and changing the heat pack on my left hand on a regular basis and the swelling on my left hand went down and now my left hand is normal.
I spent 2 nights in the hospital and I went home at noon, Saturday, June 1, 2013.
Now I am to be on a clear liquid diet for 7 days. Then I will see my Bariatric nurse and then go on a Liquid Protein diet for two weeks after that.
I am having a hard time with trying to get down 48 oz of Clear liquids.
Put I am going to do the best I can and have a positive attitude.
I wish everyone good luck on their surgery and good luck on healing after surgery!
