Strawberrie

Ok I'm 4 weeks out on soft food, can I have strawberries? Either by themselves or in a protein drink?

From a food/nutrition standpoint, they would be fine. HOWEVER, the seeds can settle in your stomach's seam and can cause some serious complications and infections. I would check with your nutritionist to make sure they are okay with it, but I would think that they will want you to wait awhile longer. You can puree the strawberries and strain most of the seeds out either with a strainer or a cheese cloth.

I was told at least six weeks. :( sad when blackberries are in season!

Thanks I had pretty much decided the raspberries were out but was hoping the strawberry seeds were small enough to not cause problems. I guess I'll strain some after everyone goes home.

I can't stand seeds in my shake or smoothies. I throw everything in my blender and then strain it as I'm pouring it into my cup. Gets rid of about 98% of the seeds and pulp :)
