Preop surgery or preop diet? Mine doesn't do the preop liquid diet either. Just the day before surgery. His prep is based on the Duke University method.

Lol sorry I'm new and didn't know how to go back and fix it. Yes, pre op diet. Thanks

I'm guessing they all have their own way of doing things. :0)

Good luck w your surgery !!

I asked my NUT and she said that in my surgeon's practice, they feel that patients will be on liquids for such a long while after surgery, that there's little reason to make people go on liquids-only before surgery. Not sure about that reasoning--especially if there's any medical benefit that you can get from the pre-op diet (shrinking the liver, etc.), but that's what she said!

I know someone who did not do the pre-OP diet. Post surgery was very difficult for them.
