How do you know if you have a Blockage?

I'm asking this because at 7 weeks out I should not feel as though my restriction is getting tighter. Shouldn't it slowly be getting to be more? A few weeks ago I struggled to reach 500 calories a day and now I can't even get in 200! I have absolutely no appetite, but I know I'm starving my body. Everything makes me gag and I throw up pretty often. All of a sudden I'm having difficulty swallowing pills and I was fine swallowing pills as soon as I was discharged from the hospital. I have put a call into my surgeon's nurse. I'm worried because I just feel that something is wrong. Everything I eat or drink feels trapped in my throat.

I did have a stricture and he dilated my esophagus during the endoscopy. I did not require a stent.

You've done the right thing, calling your doctor's office first. Please let us know what they say, and what your next steps are!

Good luck!

That does sound scary! Please let us know what your surgeon says. I hope all is well!!

I'm sorry that you had a stricture, but I'm so glad to hear that it was fairly routine and he could stretch it without needing to put in a stent!

Hopefully you'll have much smoother sailing now!
