So many problems

What's going on with the updates? They are sporadic at best these days.. It seems to be hit or miss if someone replies to a thread I'm participating in to get an notification about it.

This is happening to others not just me.

Me too! Sometimes I don't get notified and miss out on responding back. Sometimes I can't get on the site because it won't load..(but other sites load fine) And other problems too. Maybe they're trying to tell us something ;)

I have noticed the same things.

This forum has one of the best scrips I have ever seen. I like the reply box functionality and the way the whole thing is laid out. The traffic here is huge.

The only beef I have is with the slow loading ads but I understand that profit must be made.

Glitches happen. Many lines of code go into putting this stuff up. I have faith that they will get the bugs out.

I've gotten used to the endless crashing and having to write an extremely long and thought out post again to something short and not as meaningful because the app crashes after I press send!

But the new glitch of missing notifications especially to threads that are important to me is beyond frustrating...

Oh and if you guys are replying to this? I wouldn't know, because I'm not receiving updates to this thread also O_o

Yep.. I didn't get notified. I just happened to check back. It's not the ads that load slow for me.. The entire site will sometimes take 5 or more minutes to load... And then everything pops up. It's not my pc because it's just this site. Oh well

One thing I've noticed is the site works for crap on Internet Explorer. If you have Chrome or Firefox, you'll be much better off!

We're rolling out a major update to the site within a few weeks. It should address the issues some of our members have with many slow loading ads as well as most of the other issues stated above. Stay tuned.....

Hi all' date='

We've made some changes to the notifications. Please read this topic - you can revert back to the old method (instructions in that post) if you choose :-)

Thanks ken I went in there and fiddled around hopefully it works now :)

Yay, no more crashes!

I have been noticing the HUGE slowdown in notifications as well...

It's like some of my threads still update some dont...

Can we request that the new offline notifications mode be backwards compatible? That is, the default behavior is the old notifications behavior where updates are available immediately. Members then have an option to use the new offline behavior if they set preferences to do so. This is a good way to introduce functionality in software. It is not good to shock and awe user with new functionality that they did not ask for especially if it breaks existing workflows that they depend on.
