Protein intake

It's my 5th day post op and am having trouble drinking protein. I feel like I can feel it going down then hits my stomach like a ton of bricks and hurts. Water and broth is fine just sipping though

I usually mix my protein shakes with only 4oz of water... Just enough water to make the powder drinkable. I am able to drink my entire shake (30g of protein) in about 6 gulps.

Are you also just sipping your protein, or are you taking bigger drinks? You might try thinning it out more and sipping more like you do water. It may take longer, but be easier on the tummy.

It seems odd that you would get a headache because of sipping thinned out Protein drink. Did it still feel heavy or did it help with that?
