Always thirsty

I am 2 weeks post on 4/25/13 and I seem to always be thirsty...I know I'm probably not getting enough liquids because its a little hard to sip that much at this point. Is anyone else experiencing this? Should I be concerned? I was told in a nutrition class long ago that when you have your first sign of thirst your body is already greatly dehydrated?

Are you tracking how much water you are drinking in a day?

No because I know it's not enough :(

:) it sucks and its like a full time job at this point,

But I see people here everyday ending up in the ER because of dehydration. You really need to measure out your 64 oz a day and drink it. I use a 32 oz water bottle and fill it several times a day.

I also eat a ton of ice!

Also putting water flavoring drops help you be able to get more in, because after surgery water tends to sit "heavy" and using something to break up the water tension helps it pass through your stomach easier.

Ok I didn't know that about water (sitting heavy)...i have a hard time choking down 8 0z of any kind of liquid but I will try harder tomorrow! Thanks for your help!!!!

Today is day 8. I think I may be getting dehydrated. Woke up with my mouth dry as a dessert, low urine output:(. Getting frustrated. My uncle died Sat so I need to be able to travel to the funeral. Anyone else having any problems? I did start drinking leukwarm water and this helps to drink more.
