Did you drink before or after you ate? I find that I am okay following my surgeon's instructions to wait 15 minutes after drinking before I eat but that after eating, sometimes I have to wait longer than the 30 minutes that he recommends. I can sort of tell when my body is ready for some fluid after I've eaten. Sometimes it's right at 30 minutes but sometimes it's more like 45--usually when I eat fibrous veggies.

sorry you experienced this! At least our bodies let us know what they need, even if it's not always pleasant. :(
