Inhaler After Surgery

Was anyone else given an inhaler (albuterol) after surgery? I'm curious why I was given one...though I did have a bit of a cold when I went in. I forgot to use it at home until yesterday (day 10).....so I'm curious.

    Ihave been given some inhaler treatments (just sleeved yesterday) to open up my lungs because the anesthesia can cause your airways to close, leading to pneumonia.

    Do whatever they tell you to do to prevent pneumonia. I got it and it has really interfered with my recovery.
