Hello Everyone!

My name is Kenda Pease I am from Coffeyville Ks and I am starting my journey to get the vertical sleeve surgery! I am super excited my surgery is expected to be in July! My insurance requires 3 months supervised diet.. I have met with my doc he is so great answers all my questions I am very happy with him!.. I will be doing all this at Baileys Medical Center in Owasso Oklahoma!.. I am no longer smoking its rough but I am determined and I quit pop and carbs..also really rough but again I am determined I am scared and excited at the same time I hope everything goes smoothly! I would love any advice I could get from those of you who have been where I am!

I am just a little ahead of you. I am almost done with my third month. Hopefully my insurance will have my application before the month is over so that they can start processing it and I can get a surgery date.

I had the three month diet, three visits with a NUT and one visit with a Phyc. I don't smoke and I have finally gotten rid of sodas and caffeine. About to start working on not drinking thirty minutes before or after eating, and lowering my carb and sugar intake. One step at a time. :)

Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

Congrats to both of you starting this journey. I am now through my supervised diet and have been approved for surgery. I have my pre surgical testing then hopefully will have the surgery on May 6th. It seemed long during the journey but all of it will be worth it. Good Luck!

How long did the approval process take from the moment you sent out your application ?
