Do I really have to workout?!?!?

Recommended Posts

3 months out, down 40lbs. One month out I started couch to 5k. Thought I was in ok shape cardio wise as of today. I did my first cross fit this evening and omg I thought I was going to puke out my lungs and my uterus! I did almost pass out after my first burpee round, saw stars and bright lights! So I put my head btw my legs, caught my breath and jumped back in. I'm going again tomorrow (my next door neighbors garage) but today really opened my eyes as to how unfit my body and heart really is. Well I knew my body is very unfit but damn this felt so good after, wobbly thighs & all!

Wow! That is so inspiring! I'm 4.5 weeks post op and I'm just now finally back up to walking 2 miles each morning. I'm planning to start the First Day to 5K podrunner series next week. Looking forward to running the rest of this fat off!

Damnit, I was really looking forward to tearing some ass about not changing lifestyles and how this surgery and journey is about complete transformation, but instead, I'm proud of you! Congrats and keep doing it. Even when you feel like you're gonna pass out/die, just know that once this pain is gone, you will never feel it again quite that bad doing the same thing in your life as long as you keep it up.

I have lost 130 pounds, work out 5 days a week and was feeling pretty good about myself. Then I tried crossfit.

Ermagaurd.

I thought I was going to DIE!! That stuff is for the hard core that's for sure! But I got a free week so went a few times lol.

Congrats to you for trying it. It's an asskicker.

Good to hear you went and tried! Keep at it. Cross fit is one of those progressive activities that gets better each time you try. Yea, there are always going to be ass kickers that are better then you. That I know from experience. I am a cardio guy at heart. Love to run and do ellyptical. I sucked at weight lifting for the longest time. I always gave up and wimped out because motivation was not there. It still is not where I need it to be. However, if you keep at it and commit, we will be one of those ass kickers one day. I found the class / open gym environment to be a little much for me so In have invested in a PT that will help me get to my goals and have the motivation, confidence and skill to do well in an open cross fit gym environment. My advice is to get some PT until you feel good about open cross fit gym on your own. Usually, a gym will offer a 3 package deal. I just signed up for an 18 session package today. Cross fit is completely worth the strong athlete it turns you/me into.

I love the attitude Veronica. Too many people give up after an experience like that. That's not you. You're going to do it again and again until you kick it's butt! Keep it up!

Aww thanks!! It really does feel good after a workout regardless if its just a stroll, walk/jog, Crossfit, Zumba, yoga... As sleevers or any WLS we've literally been given a second chance. This TOOL must be utilized or we'll just head straight into failure/ minimal weight loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
