Anybody doing liquid diet right now?

I'm scheduled for surgery April 26th, and I have one more week left of eating before I start the liquid diet.

I'm curious to know if anybody is current doing liquids and Protein shakes to prepare for surgery.

Hey... it could be worse! I have 6 weeks of Pre-Op diet! I'm already on it and my surgery isn't until May! Best wishes to you!

  • Hey Check Walmart I online, I use the Protein shakes that are all ready made and ready to drink and Walmart has it for good price. The vanilla cream is good and also the chocolate. Good luck guy

I am on day two of the 10 day liquid diet. I got the carnation protein powder, they have the right amount of protien per shake when you mix them with skim milk and they are not thick and nasty. the other kind of protien shakes have too much protien in them to drink 6 of them a day. =) Also buy french onion soup and eat the broth from that, it has the most flavor when you are ready for broth. =) I would love a piece of pizza today. ha!

Hello

I started my liquid diet today, drinking diet snapples, gingerale and broth. I had 2 bowls of broth, 3 bottles of Water and 2 bottles of diet snapple and one gingerale.

It definitely hard the first day..

Good luck guys.. I get my surgery Friday and I am excited and nervous.

Thanks for the tips guys! I hate Protein shakes, but I will definetely try the broth. I was thinking of buying the protein shakes made by Atkins. They have 15 grams of protein...they are super expensive though.

you can get sample packs from GNC. You really want to get this nailed down before surgery. Protein shakes are a staple item. You can get protein from broth, but it will take an awful lot to equal the protein you get from a shake. My favorite is the Premier brand that you can get from Sam's or costco. Not overly sweet or thick. The vanilla can be altered with some sugar free syrups. The chocolate is really good too.

Leave the ginger ale alone....let pop/soda go as soon as possible

My surgery is April 29th so I've been trying to find the right Protein drinks for when I start liquids too. Today I went into a Vitamin Shoppe ( they're online too) and they have protein water! I bought 3 individual bottles to try but each bottle has 40g protein, 0 sugar, 0 carbs. The guy that I talked to in there said that's how he gets most of his protein. He said they are really good and you can just sip all day :-)

Try carnation breakfast. U can mix it with skim milk and make it the taste and consistancy you like. When u mix with skim milk it gives about 16 grams of protien and doesn't have to taste thick and nasty. Hang in tjere on the liquid diet. Mine was 10 days too and it is hard. Try French onion. Soup the broth is very flavorful and make some jello jiigglers! Makes it seem like you have something to chew on. I am in the hospital now had surgery on Friday. So far so good.
