Gas X strips

Can someone please explain to me what these are? "Strips" sound weird for something you ingest. Can I just get them at a chemist when I get to LA .. I'm not sure if we have anything similar here & want to be prepared.... I've just googled - so u put them on your tongue and they dissolve?
