Accurate BMI site?

I'm 5'2" 262 pounds and one site says its a BMI of 47 ...I just find it hard to believe my BMI is that high...when I look in the mirror I don't see myself that huge.

Hiya,

I assume you meant 262 pounds. For that height the BMI is 47.95 by my calculations.

They're all just numbers at the end of the day. There's nothing that says you should feel at certain way at any given BMI. There are tons of people who are at a BMI of 25 - 30 and feel fabulous at that weight and for them they're at goal. The BMI nazi's would say they're overweight, which is rubbish if they're healthy and happy.

You've obviously decided you want to lose weight which is great. Good luck on your journey :)

Girl how did you gain that much weight overnight??

Have you been eating those chocolate covered snails again!!!

I've had to ban myself from chocolate covered anything.

Couple of extra workouts this week I think .......

Lmao yes I meant 262. I still can't believe my BMI is that high..it's crazy..but I am pretty short so I understand. Thanks :)

Well look at you, girl.. You just went from 662 to 262 in less than an hour! Pretty sure that beats all ;)

http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ that's the site I use. We use it at work too. It's the National Health Institute site.

My BMI started at 60 and is now in the 50s... don't sweat it. You're on track to bring it down, and that's what matters! :)

your link doesn't work :o I figured it out though lol thanks

It worked for me!!! I'm so close to being just "overweight" instead of "obese"

It's so close I could taste it!!

"Taste it" hehehe I'd like to taste an Oreo right now :P

Might be because I'm on my ipad lol

sorry!! It worked for me also, but I'm on a PC/laptop, not a tab/ipad. I'm glad you figured it out anyway. :)

Just downloaded the app for that BMI site. Happy to report my BMI went from 49 to 43.6 bc of a 30 lb weightloss. Still classified as obese but the number is going down. Yay!!
