I'm 5 weeks out from surgery and have lost 30 lbs. Yay!! But I'm exhausted. I had to take this morning off to rest. I went back to work 2 weeks ago and although I can do my job I just feel drained. How long before my energy comes back? Other than that things are good.

Are you drinking enough Water daily? Not taking your Vitamins such as B12 or Iron they help with energy. Working out getting out and walking or taking a 30-60 minute cardio class or low impact Water aerobics getting the blood pumping gives you energy.

Not sure what you are or not doing but this are just some areas that may be why you are feeling exhausted.

I was in the same boat at 5 weeks out. I was taking a 2-3 hour naps pretty much every day. Saturdays could see me taking two naps. This was just not reasonable. I contacted my NUT because it was so bad.

She said I needed to increase my good carbs. I was still in the light puree stage, so I increased the vegetables in my Soups. 2 days later it was like I was a new person. I had energy and didn't need a nap anymore. I had truly turned the corner.

For those who think increasing carbs will slow your weight loss, think of this ...

Having the energy allowed me to start an exercise routine which my fat just started melting off of me. If you don't have the energy to move, how much exercise are you going to get?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
