Day before pre-op liquid diet.....

How do I keep myself from eating everything I see? I feel like I will never eat again? Lol. Did anyone else experience this right before?

I felt like I wouldn't ever eat again so yea I had that feeling but I didn't really feel like I had to force myself to not eat that last day. I mean you eat and they can't operate or at least it becomes much more dangerous. Just remind yourself that you will eat and that you don't want to postpone the surgery just to go through this last day again later. Do it once and its done.

Tomorrow will be the first day of my 10 day pre-op diet. You are right...gotta do it! I don't get sleeved until April 2. Ten days on these liquids just seems like forever, but I will do it!

Totally. Are you on all liquid for the 10 days? See I lucked out, I only had to do liquid twice a day and then could eat for dinner or well 1 meal a day. I just had the directive of keeping the day's total under 1k calories. Then only clear liquid for the last day before. If tomorrow is the start of the diet, treat yourself tonight. I did that and it helped a bit.

I plan to! :). I told my husband I want frozen margaritas! I am not drinking the skinny girl margaritas I usually would drrink on special occasions. You really did luck out! The hardest part of the ten days will be going to a 3 day out-of-town work conference where I will be going out with colleagues for meals (and I will be enjoying my shake). I also have my nephews birthday party tomorrow at a Chinese restaurant. I haven't even mentioned the family Easter weekend at a bed and breakfast. This too shall pass!

Hi' I'm 3 months out and still struggling every single day and not winning yet. I've only last 27 lbs so far and just can't stay moitivated long enough to take the next big step. I want to lose 13 lbs so baddly. I just can't kick it in gear.

Mine starts Monday.. Had a nice little TGIFridays visit tonight ! Been slowly working in protein shakes as replacement meals this week though.. I'm ready. Will be hard but I'm ready.. Gonna be crying in a few days but I'm ready LOL

It helps so much to relate to people in te same boat. Today is day 1 now of my 10 day pre op all liquid diet. I actually mixed my Atkins advantage shake with a cup of coffee and made it cold using a cocktail shaker lol. I don't want to deal with sugar withdrawal and caffeine withdrawal at the same time. I am used to drinking diet coke not coffee, so this will have to suffice!

Today is day 3 for my 7 day pre op diet. It is slowly getting easier. But I am far moodier than normal and I find myself a lot more tired after daily activities. Just keep telling yourself to keep your eye on the prize!! You can do it :)

PS I went with my family to Texas Roadhouse for dinner last night and I survived!! Barely, but I did it!! You can do it too. I promise. This has been harder than quitting smoking. So I know if I can do it you can do it too!!

Cheering for Ya

Thank you ChristieK. I am actually excited that this day is here!

My surgery is April 6th. I'm doing my "Farewell Tour" before I go on the pre-op liquid diet. Basically I'm going to places like buffets, places I know I'll never be able to go to again. I'm getting in a last bite of naughtiness before I this life changing surgery. It will be worth it though.
