New here...introducing myself

Hello,

My name is Jennifer and I am just starting on this journey. I am 46 years old and have been battling my weight for years. I have done many different diets and can lose some of the weight but I always end up gaining it back. I now have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and joint pain. So after doing a lot of research and soul searching, I decided that having the sleeve done was the best choice for me. I had my first doctor visit on Monday. I qualify for the surgery because of my co-morbidities. I will end up paying about $2000 out of pocket. I have a few hoops to jump through first...six months of medically supervised weight loss, a psych evaluation, and a nutritionist visit. Hopefully I will get to have my surgery in September. I look forward to getting to know people here. :)

Welcome Jennifer! This site is wonderful. I hope you'll find it as helpful and supportive as I do! People are totally open and honest, willing to share, and help each other out which is rare to find. :)

Welcome! I am fairly new, just had surgery Feb 28 and am so looking forward to the future. I tried many diets myself and always gained it back and then some. I have a supportive family and coworkers and friends so that is very helpful. Some of them will never understand what I have gone through and the decision I have made but that is okay--I know all the reasons and am very happy with my decision. This site has been great to get information and suggestions. Again, welcome and good luck.

Good luck to you on your journey to a healthier happier you!! I was just recently sleeved myself. This site has been a source of comfort and information, when I started my journey. I hope things turn out well for you, again good luck to you!!
