I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow...and I had the same problem...and I thought it would never stop and like you it kept me from getting my fluids in b/c it hurt ever sip I took. But I'm here to tell you the good news is that it does go away...I'd say about day 6-7 for me...and I've been drinking like a normal person again :) The last 3 days I've actually gotten in over the 64 oz without a problem whereas the first week I was struggling to get in 48! So hang in there! You got this and it will get better!!

Try gas -x strips , they helped me .

Gas xstrips were a life saver! I had such pain n my chest and a constant lump like in my throat! I am 6 dats out today and it's almost gone.

Thanks everyone, thats good to know. I have been using the gas x chewables. I just hope its not permanent.

MK1986, I'm right along with you with the gas pains. I also had surgery Monday and every sip I take seems like it is surrounded by gas. I have the Gas-X strips and they help a little bit. I'm also having problems with trying to drink broth, eat popsicles and jello.
