Excitement & nervousness!

I just got a call from the scheduler at my hospital. We scheduled my EKG and chest x-ray for the same day as my next nutritionist appointment. And my labs and UGI are going to be the same day as my last nutritionist appointment in May. I'm just waiting to get my psych eval scheduled!

This means that it's getting close. I'm so nervous and excited at the same time... I'm excited for my new life. But I'm nervous about the pain of surgery and the emotional pain of 'losing food'

I'm trying to get that under control now... But right now I know I can splurge once in a while... But after surgery my small banana of a stomach won't allow me to. And it may sound dumb, but it scares me.

It isn't dumb - there are big changes ahead!

The last year plus has not always been easy but it has been wonderful for me. It is hard to let go of that "bad boyfriend" food that gave you a little rush but then left you feeling like crap. Over time, you start to realize that being healthy, active and hot looking is alot better then ANY FEELING food ever gave you!

Hang in there - the pain isn't that bad, the first few months are hard to adjust, but it gets better week by week. Keep your eye on the prize and all those fears will be less important.

I know the feeling. I have completed all the necessary steps - I have my final nutritional appointment on 4/1 and the surgeon appointment 4/3 - from there it is just approval and surgery date.....going awfully fast and slow all at the same time.

I thought about the emotional loss of food but I had to quit smoking and that was a lot harder - now I may have a bite of something that isn't healthy but I don't have a desire to binge....
