Drainage care

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new here. Had my surgery 3/5. All went really well. Today 3/9 my bandage surrounding the drainage tube was peeling away, smelled unpleasant and I decided to cut it off and replace with clean dressing. I didn't disturb the tube (much). Did anyone else change the dressing around their drainage tube? Did everything turn out OK? Also itching like crazy from all wound sites (6 in all) - guessing that's the healing.

Thanx, Anna

They took out my drain before I left the hospital, and told me to change the dressing daily until the seepage stopped. They did tell me if the dressing had a strange color or smelled unpleasant, to call them... so it might be worth a call.

Hi Chris, Thanx for the advice I think I'll do that.
